High-end fashion designers have entered into a new industry—interior decor. Just like their fashion collections have signature items, their home decor lines have key pieces that are unique and instantly recognizable. Many of these items are starting interior decor trends and here are five you’ll want to incorporate into your home.

Eclectic Velvet

Gucci’s home line is full of lush velvet that mixes embroidery and the brand’s GG motif. The collection features a retro vibe with everything from accent chairs to throw pillows.

Modern Bouclé

Christian Siriano’s newest collection is all about neutrals and bouclé. It’s super modern and luxurious with wooden touches and geometric shapes.

Exquisite Botanicals

Dior’s 2021 home collection found inspiration in the family’s villa garden in Normandy, Italy. The collection has florals and botanical motifs for those wishing to bring nature into their home.

Golden Touches

Versace’s home collection is just as glamourous as its fashion lines with golden accents and graphic patterns. Of course the signature motif, the Medusa, is in gold.

Postmodern Shapes

Saint Laurent’s collection has tons of fun postmodern shapes and colors in items including ashtrays, chairs, lamps, glasses, plates, and vases.

Sydney Ziems launched her brand Serendipitous in 2019 with the goal to create eco-friendly jewelry and accessories. A celebration of art, nature, and the past, the brand’s stated mission is to build a community of intentful and conscious shoppers who enjoy fashion and making the world a better place.

“Sustainability is so important to me,” Ziems stressed in an interview with The Particulars. “I find it outrageous the human rights violations that take place in the fast fashion industry and the environmental impact that comes with mass production. I didn’t want to contribute to that.”

Ziems puts her money where her mouth is. Each seasonal collection the brand selects one item where a percent of the proceeds go to a charity/organization that aligns with their mission.

Since launching, Ziems has created and sold countless pieces made with materials from the earth, such as sea glass, as well as vintage items from brands like Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera. Her products often have a playful edge to them, and Ziems admits she is curating for “a modern-day Jane Eyre with a dash of Fran Drescher.”

Describing her style as a “sophisticated and ethereal vibe with a splash of loud,” Ziems’ collections often juxtapose unconventional materials, creating pieces that are truly one-of-a-kind. “I love remixing classical elements like pearls and giving them a modern twist like asymmetrical designs or funky colors!” says Ziems.

Indeed, some of her out-there pieces incorporate pearls and seashells, adding a nautical twist to otherwise classic jewelry pieces. “I just love the ocean so much!” admits the designer. “Not to mention it is a big source of inspiration for me and I miss it so much! I hope we can start traveling soon.”

Scroll down to see some recent pieces, and head to Serendipitous’ online store.

If you’re already tired of the tiny bag trend, we have bad news for you: there are going to be even more of them in Spring 2020.

When fashion designer Jacquemus launched a tiny handbag named “Le Chiquito,” and put a $495 price tag on it, the world went crazy about it. The accessory immediately went viral and began one of the staple trends of 2018. Naturally, many brands came out with their own versions of tiny bags but what’s surprising is that the trend is still not fading.

These bags are definitely not practical; you can’t even put your phone in them. But somehow, they became a rising trend that we will see more of in the season ahead of us. Many brands like Burberry, Fendi, and Emporio Armani presented their own models for Spring 2020 and, if you don’t want to splurge for a high-end tiny bag, you can get one at most high-street stores.

What do you think about this trend?‌ Does it deserve the popularity it has or do you think these tiny bags are overrated?

Each year, there are more and more copies of luxury fashion garments, and bags are among the most popular items that are copied. According to Hypebeast, 5,300 copies of designer garments were confiscated in L.A. in August 2019 alone, so you can imagine how the numbers add up.

Luxury goods company LVMH decided to help put an end to this practice. The French conglomerate released an app that uses artificial intelligence to discover which designer bags are actually fake. The app is called Entrupy and it’s a part of their prestigious program La Maison des Startups.

Right now, the app supports validating the authenticity of bags by brands like Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès.

Each bag that enters this system goes through the authentication process while artificial intelligence uses around 500 data items about each product to determine if it’s real or fake. The app needs only a few seconds to generate the result, and it’s correct in over 99% of the cases.

Who would’ve known that the luxury fashion market would merge with technical developments one day?

Fashion designer and a current artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s men’s wear collection, Virgil Abloh, released his first jewelry collection under his own name. But, the jewelry is made of an unconvencional material – paperclips.

“It’s a paper clip, but it’s also pavé diamonds made in a very specific way,” Abloh said. “I’ve been developing those for three years.”

His collection is currently available for pre-order at a pop-up shop in Paris. It includes a necklace, earrings, and another accessory that hasn’t been announced yet.

Though the info about the prices hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s believed that Abloh’s collection will be quite pricey. One thing that will surely raise the cost of his jewelry will be the diamonds he put on it. The designer describes his collection as “high jewelry for all.”

He’s not alone in thinking that a regular paperclip can be an inspiration for so much more. In 2007, Margiela released a brass paperclip necklace; last year, J Crew sold a gold-plated paperclip necklace, while Prada has a single paperclip selling for $170.
