From Natalie Portman to Olivia Wilde, many of our favorite actresses made a switch to directing in the last few years—and the list is getting longer as we speak. Several Hollywood stars recently announced their directorial feature debuts, and these three are leading the way.

Zoë Kravitz – Pu—y Island

Kravitz rocked our world with her performances in Big Little Lies and High Fidelity, and her directorial debut Pu—y Island sounds as intriguing as these projects. It will center on a cocktail waitress who meets a tech billionaire played by Channing Tatum and manages to score an invite to his mysterious private island.

Gina Rodriguez – Ryan Garcia Movie

Most people know Rodriguez as the star of Jane the Virgin, but she also has her own production company and is ready to give directing a shot. Her feature debut will be inspired by the life of the Mexican-American boxer Ryan Garcia, who’s also set to star in the movie.

Julia Stiles – Wish You Were Here

Stiles was the heroine of our favorite 2000s teen rom-coms, but she’s getting ready to take her career in a new direction. Her feature debut Wish You Were Here is based on Renée Carlino’s novel and it follows a woman who discovers that the dreamy painter who ghosted her is actually terminally ill and helps him live his last days to the fullest.
