It might sound a little strange to say that jumping rope is a trend. After all, haven’t children been doing it at school and for fun since the beginning of time? A new and revamped model of the Peloton Tread and Tread+ has recently become available in the U.S., featuring an extensive video library and the immersive fitness experience we’ve come to expect from Peloton, as well as some brand new safety features.

This new model release came just a few months after more than 125,000 Peloton treadmills had to be recalled earlier this year. In April the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Product Commission (CPSC) released a warning to parents to avoid using the Tread+ due to the potential danger the treadmills posed for small children or pets. After the CPSC received quite a few accident reports related to the Tread+, Peloton issued a voluntary recall on the affected product.

The added safety features on the new Tread version include a four-digit code that prevents the treadmill from being turned on by anyone without the authorization code. There will also be a physical safety key, which can be removed and stored away when the device isn’t in use, to help prevent injury. Peloton’s new Tread is now available in the US, UK, and Canada and will be available in Germany later in the fall.

While women-only gyms are nothing new to the fitness world, they’ve been trending on TikTok. The#WomensOnlyGym has over 18 million views. That’s incredible! It looks like women are trying to find a safe workout space and they’re turning to the app for them.

One gym that caters to women that has gone viral is Blush Fitness in Overland Park, Kansas. The gym has an impressive free weights area, machinery, and a 24-hour-only-access pass. Additionally, they’ve taken measures to make women feel more comfortable like covering the windows so no one can look through them while women are working out, free menstrual products, and signs saying when male staffers are scheduled to work.

Another gym to go viral is Australian-based Fernwood Fitness. The gym is exclusively for women and it’s open 24-hours. There are multiple locations that all have a female aesthetic, extensive equipment, pink LED-lit studios, and luxurious bathrooms.

Like it or not, a lot of women don’t feel safe in the gym. Working out surrounded by men can range from being intimidating to even threatening, and as a result, a lot of women avoid going to the free weights section of the gym or sometimes even visiting the gym at all.

Well now, new all-women’s gyms are popping up to try to address the problem by giving women a safe space where they can work out away from men.

One such gym, Blush Fitness, recently went viral on TikTok when a user posted a video showing what it’s like: open 24/7 for women only, windows you can’t see through, and free menstrual products in the bathrooms.

While some women immediately saw the appeal and were inspired to look into joining an all-women’s gym themselves, there were also a lot of comments that weren’t quite as happy about the video, claiming that it was an example of segregation.

Even with the controversy, it’s clear that this type of space can make a lot of women feel more safe and comfortable working out than they would potentially at a standard gym. Would you want to join an all-women’s gym?

Fitness and health trends come and go like the tides, with new ones cropping up constantly. And a lot of the time, these trends are just an attempt by a company to capitalize on people’s interest in living a long, healthy life, having little to no actual value.

Yet one 2021 fitness trend is actually scientifically proven to be very effective and a great choice for your workout routine. We’re talking about HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, a type of training that involves alternating short bursts of high-intensity exercise (think burpees and squat jumps) with intervals of low-intensity exercise, like walking in place.

And it is dang good for you. According to studies, HIIT is effective at reducing body fat, improving cardiovascular and metabolic health, and even improving mental health. One of the reasons why it’s so great is that it’s incredibly time-efficient, burning as many calories in 20 minutes as low intensity, steady-state cardio would in an hour. This makes it a great choice for busy people who can’t spend an hour on the treadmill, or people who would simply get bored doing so.

So if you’re looking for a way to change up your workout routine, HIIT is a highly recommended, scientifically sound fitness trend you’ll actually feel good about jumping on.

While women-only gyms are nothing new to the fitness world, they’ve been trending on TikTok. The#WomensOnlyGym has over 18 million views. That’s incredible! It looks like women are trying to find a safe workout space and they’re turning to the app for them.

One gym that caters to women that has gone viral is Blush Fitness in Overland Park, Kansas. The gym has an impressive free weights area, machinery, and a 24-hour-only-access pass. Additionally, they’ve taken measures to make women feel more comfortable like covering the windows so no one can look through them while women are working out, free menstrual products, and signs saying when male staffers are scheduled to work.

Another gym to go viral is Australian-based Fernwood Fitness. The gym is exclusively for women and it’s open 24-hours. There are multiple locations that all have a female aesthetic, extensive equipment, pink LED-lit studios, and luxurious bathrooms.

Women at these women-only gyms don’t have to worry about mansplaining, being watched by men, or being photographed without their knowledge. While many people are loving the idea of these gyms, not everyone has celebrated it—some people feel like it’s a way of segregating men and women.

Like it or not, a lot of women don’t feel safe in the gym. Working out surrounded by men can range from being intimidating to even threatening, and as a result, a lot of women avoid going to the free weights section of the gym or sometimes even visiting the gym at all.

Well now, new all-women’s gyms are popping up to try to address the problem by giving women a safe space where they can work out away from men.

One such gym, Blush Fitness, recently went viral on TikTok when a user posted a video showing what it’s like: open 24/7 for women only, windows you can’t see through, and free menstrual products in the bathrooms.

While some women immediately saw the appeal and were inspired to look into joining an all-women’s gym themselves, there were also a lot of comments that weren’t quite as happy about the video, claiming that it was an example of segregation.

Even with the controversy, it’s clear that this type of space can make a lot of women feel more safe and comfortable working out than they would potentially at a standard gym. Would you want to join an all-women’s gym?
